Meet Our Staff
Edwyn Ortiz-Nance, MOB, PsyD, Clinical Director Dr. Ortiz-Nance received his Masters in Organizational Behavior and his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Cross Cultural Psychology and a concentration in Neuro-Psychology. His post doctoral studies include infant and preschool mental health and over the past six years he has specialized in the diagnosing and successful treatment of infants, preschoolers and children with Autism and Asperger’s Disorder. He is often called on as an expert witness in Court. Dr. Ortiz-Nance additionally teaches Qi Gong for the management of anxiety, stress, depression, pain management and sleep disorders, as well as neurofeedback for the treatment of the above symptoms and attentional disorders.
Constance M. Treis, RN, MFT, Administrative Director Connie has been the administrative director of Synchrony for 12 years. She has over 27 years of experience as a mental health professional, providing counseling to children and families. She specializes in EMDR, Cranio-Sacral Therapy, and attachment disorders.
Beverly J. Anderson, MFT Bev is a founding member of Synchrony and has been licensed for 14 years. She enjoys working with couples, co- parenting, adolescents, domestic violence/trauma in women, military families, veterans, family reunification, and PTSD. She is highly experienced in adjustment counseling for traumatic injuries and transitional life experiences, as well as solution focused counseling in areas including grief and loss, sexual abuse, and marriage and family issues.
Dawn Kinney Miller, LCSW Dawn has been working in the field of mental health for over 20 years. She has a wide range of experience having worked in Outpatient Mental Health, Intensive Day Treatment, School- based Rehabilitation, State Hospital psychiatric and developmental services, Intensive Treatment Foster Care, Women’s Shelters and perinatal substance abuse programs. She began her career as a music therapist, and continues to utilize music, creative arts, and groups in her treatment. Much of Dawn’s work has been with children and their families as she has provided services through various practice settings. Other areas of specialty include women’s issues, mental health treatment and developmental disabilities.
Maribel Resendez, LCSW Maribel has over 14 years of experience working with abused and neglected children including children in foster care and adoptive homes. She also has extensive experience advocating for children’s needs, providing families with community resources and assisting families to access services. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
Brock Fowler, PsyD Dr. Fowler received his Doctorate of Psychology with specialties in cross-cultural and forensic psychology. He has extensive experience working in the correctional system and with counseling families who have been impacted by incarceration. He also specializes in crisis intervention, clinical supervision, psychological assessment and the treatment of trauma. Dr. Fowler is a member of the American Psychological Association, California Psychological Association, the Association of Black Psychologists, and American Psychological Association Divisions for Men and Masculinity, GLBT, Ethnic Minority Groups, Addictions, Trauma, and Peace, Conflict, and Violence.
Danny Santana, MFT Intern, PPS Danny has 14 years of experience working with adolescents ranging from group homes, social services, probation, and school settings. He further has experience in working with Individuals, couples, families, and therapeutic groups. Danny specializes in treatment of the following areas: Depression, Bereavement, Divorce/Seperation, Suicidal Ideation, Life Adjustments, Parenting, and facilitating adolescent and men's groups. His theoretical orientation includes utilizing Client Centered applications and Family Structural Systems. He is available to provide services in both Spanish and English.
Kari Wilson, M.A., MFT Intern Kari has her masters degree in marriage and family therapy and a school counseling credential from Fresno State. She has extensive experience working with adolescents around family relationship issues, substance use, academic performance, trauma, depression and anxiety. Her practice includes child, adolescent, adult and family counseling.
Brittany Storle, M.S., MFT Intern Brittany has her M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fresno State and is currently working on a Pupil Personnel Services Credential for School Counseling. She provides counseling to individuals, children, families, couples, and groups. She has experience working with adults, adolescents, and children who are dealing with such issues as trauma, domestic violence, physical and sexual assault/abuse, substance use/abuse, grief, relationship conflict, depression, and anxiety. She has worked with both victims of domestic violence and batterers. She has been trained in Trauma Focused – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help children and adolescents who have been affected by a trauma. Brittany has also been trained to do Co-Parenting using the “Cooperative Parenting and Divorce Curriculum”. She has worked with clients from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds.
Patricia Pullen, Parent Education Program Coordinator Patricia has a B.A. in Management & Organization Behavior. She is certified in the Parents Helping Parents Curriculum, Teen Parents Helping Parents Curriculum, and Domestic Violence -Domestic Violence No More!
Rebecca Santabañez, Administrative Assistant/Parent Educator Rebecca has a B.A. from Fresno State and is currently working on her Master’s Degree in Liberal Studies. She is certified in Parents Helping Parents, Incredible Years, and Parents Helping Teenage Parents. Rebecca enjoys working with teens, teen mothers, and is bilingual.
Martin Hinojosa, Parent Educator Martin's specialty is Parent Education and Child Advocacy. He is trained in Parents Helping Parents (6 certificates), Teen Parenting curriculum, Comenzando Bien, March of Dimes facilitator; American Cancer Society Quit Smock facilitator; Child Brain Development, Meth in the Backyard facilitator (Drug specialty), Domestic Violence Facilitator, Nutrition and Physical Activity facilitator, Community Education for Diabetes Prevention and Treatment by UC Davis facilitator, Gang Prevention and Intervention program facilitator, and Parent Leadership Institute Facilitator. Martin is bilingual in English and Spanish, and presents on different topics regarding healthy parenting and child development.
